For the benefit of Education.
Education in Art begins as children. In our early years we are taught to appreciate the importance of art in our lives. We learn about the aspects of colour, how to match it, how to blend it, make a multiple rainbow of colour. We learn what colours we like, which suit us and how to make it work for us. It can make us angry and equally bring about calm, remind us of the past, encourage happiness, and sadness. It is in nature and represented in culture, and it helps us even to identify form.
We are taught the necessary skills to allow us to participate in the arts, we draw, we colour, we paint, we sculpt, we build, and as children we do it with eagerness. It is a skill that we learn to appreciate as a pleasure, sometimes taxing, sometimes demanding, but always satisfactory.
It is therefore understandable that art should be used further in education. It is the first place we turn to dealing with disadvantaged groups and individuals. Perhaps we believe we can help bring this aspect of pleasure to someone who may benefit and have a need.
Many artists are employed in the teaching of the arts, dance, music, performance - the arts are varied and include many mediums, reaching out to many strands of the community who have an interest. TAO believe there should be more. In a society that is ever demanding there should be a stronger focus on how education in arts could play an even wider role.
TAO offer access to large, open, clean, workable space in each of their projects, and offer those creatives eager to teach to take advantage of it. TAO will work with enquiries to make ensure needs are met for the benefit of all involved. Often we have knowledge of funding opportunities having several years of success in applying for education project funding, and can offer advise where possible. We regularly consider the status of TAO Ltd to approach funders. We network in the community to recognise partnership organisations and individuals teaching arts, and equally organisations that could benefit from the teaching of arts, offering access to space that brings them together. We provide use of facilities in the teaching of the arts.
